Club Statement

The Broadmeadows Basketball Association is aware of the identification of Broadmeadows and some surrounding suburbs as COVID-19 case ‘hotspots.’

In recent days we have been in contact with Hume City Council and Basketball Victoria to consult on any potential changes to our return to basketball plans.

While an increase of cases in our area is concerning, we do not believe this requires a postponement of our current return schedule. We are confident that the protocols and procedures put in place for our training, programs and competitions will ensure a safe environment for all participants and patrons.

In recent days the Broadmeadows Basketball Stadium has undergone extensive deep cleaning and sanitisation, as well as the addition of hygiene safety signage, decals and informational around the venue. Various staff, coaches, referees, players and others have also received additional information on new requirements as well as undergoing COVID19 infection control training.

We will continue to monitor any further development and update you with changes as required. For now, we look forward to welcoming you back to our venues from Monday June 29.

If you are feeling unwell and experiencing any coronavirus symptoms, please get tested.
