Nelson Kirksey signs with the Hume City Broncos

We are very excited to announce the signing of 2018 Big V CM MVP in Nelson Kirksey.

Kirksey comes from Pittsburg, USA, and played College Basketball for  the Kansas City Roos.

Kirksey spent the 2016 season in the South Australian Premier League as a member of the Woodville Warriors. Kirksey was the recipient of the SA Premier League’s Woollacott Medal (best and fairest), then in 2017 spent time with Kilsyth in the then SEABL competition.

The 2018 and 2019 seasons, he became recognised as one of the Big V’s best, being crowned MVP in 2018 and helped his now previous team the Hawthorn Magic to a Semi-Finals this year.

Kirksey will fit nicely into the Senior Men’s high paced game plan, with the 6’3” guard possessing an explosive first step and the ability to finish above the rim. In season 2019 playing for the Hawthorn Magic, Kirksey averaged over 21 points per game along with 4 rebounds per game and 3 assists per game.

We very much look forward to seeing what Kirksey will bring on and off the court for the Broncos in 2020…
