Senior Broncos Results - Round 16
Senior Women def Werribee
Hume City – 72
Werribee – 64
Nicole Zammit – 29 points, 9 assists
BreAnna Brock – 22 points, 10 rebounds
A big test for the Senior Women against Werribee (then 2ndplaced) as a memorable victory came at the final siren.
With both teams missing a few players due to injuries and illness (Broncos were without starters Azia Bishop, Bianca Babic and Kristy Rinaldi), it caused the bench players to really step up in those absences.
The first 3 quarters showcased some great and tight basketball, as both teams tried to put multiple baskets together to gain some momentum, but they couldn’t be split; Werribee only lead by 2 points at the final break.
Enter Nicole Zammit. As the minutes ticked, ‘Z’ took the game upon her shoulders and made crucial shots and plays to lead the Broncos to victory, and into second spot on the Championship ladder.
