2022 Big V Broncos Head Coaches

HUME CITY BRONCOS 2022 COACHING APPOINTMENTS

Broadmeadows Basketball is excited to announce the Head Coaches who will lead the Hume City Broncos in the 2022 Big V Season.

After a stop-start 2021 season, the Broncos potentially would have had a successful season, with ¾ teams likely to have participated in finals.

Coaching Appointments:

Championship Men – Matt Foster

We are pleased to announce that Matt Foster has returned to the head coaching role for our Championship Men.

From leading the Broncos to a Grand Final Series in 2019 in his first season, and with the Men ending the 2021 season in third position, including big wins against all of the top teams (including Keilor and Casey who have gone to NBL1), Matt is determined to further the program again in 2022.

“Throughout the last few seasons we have been working extremely hard and we know that we have a program that can be successful against any club. And we will be ready to yet again prove that in season 2022.”

Championship Women – Robbie Baldwin

Robbie Baldwin has been appointed Championship Women Head Coach.

Robbie has previous Big V experiences with  Diamond Valley and Knox, and was also in the coaching staff for 2019 Under-14 Indigenous Program.

We are excited for Robbie to take the reins with our young and talented Championship Womens’ side.

“I’m really excited to be coaching at Hume City. I have played and coached against the club for over 30 years and I have always been impressed with how competitive the club is.

I’m looking forward to coaching a young competitive team and watching the development of them as individuals and a team.”

Youth Men – Darren Hindle

Fresh off the announcement of High Performance Director, Darren has been appointed our Youth Men Head Coach.

Darren’s Big V experience includes Head Coaching roles at Wyndham and Geelong, including being named 2017 YL1M Coach of the Year.

“I’m excited for the great opportunity given to me by Hume City. I truly look forward to continuing to grow the Broncos Youth program, and can’t wait to get started.”

Youth Women – Tim Devlin

After leading a successful 2021 season (with the Youth Women at 16-4 record) we are excited to have Tim recommit to season 2022.

Tim is ready to take the Youth Women to a finals campaign which was missed out on in 2021..

I’m very happy to be a part of the program again. We have a very talented youth group that was showcased this season and I’m excited to continue working with them in season 2022.

……….

Dee Butler and Kevin Fleming to depart.

Both coaches have provided so much experience and guidance to our Big V Program over the past few seasons. It’s disappointing to see them go but we have loved being a part of their basketball coaching journeys!

We would like to wish Dee & Kev all the best on their future endeavors, and know that they will always be a part of the Broncos.
