Broncos Abroad - Part 1 - Oriana Siamoa
BRONCOS ABROAD – PART 1
Over the past couple of weeks, several Junior and Senior Broncos have travelled overseas to participate in tournaments in Samoa and the USA. Throughout the next fortnight, we will take a look at those Broncos’ journeys as they take their talents across the world!
ORIANA SIAMOA
U18 Girls Junior Bronco.
Over the past fortnight, Oriana has played for Samoa in the Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa. She participated as the second youngest player in the entire basketball tournament.
The Pacific Games is a multi-sport event, (much like the Olympic Games on a smaller scale), with participation exclusively from countries around the South Pacific Ocean. It is held every four years and began in 1963. This is the sixteenth edition of the Pacific Games.
Over the tournament, Oriana scored 30 points overall averaging 20 minutes per game playing against New Caledonia (11pts), Cook Islands (2pts), Fiji (2pts), Tahitit (7pts), American Samoa and Guam (8pts).
Oriana and Samoa ending up taking the Bronze medal in a thriller against Guam in a 2-point win with a loud crowd full of family and supporters.
Well done Ori! Doing Samoa and the Broncos proud!
