To our BBA Basketball Community
We know that many of our members in lockdown postcodes are doing it hard as they cope with the reintroduction of restricted movement. Please know that we are thinking of you during this difficult time and working on ways to particularly keep players in those postcodes engaged with basketball programs we can offer.
These are some of the ways in which we believe we can add value in the current environment:
- Offering free on-line specialist clinics catering to the skills needs of both our Junior Broncos and Junior Domestic Club members, from 6 to 10 July inclusive (details on the website);
- Exploring the possibility of connecting Junior Broncos players to a Junior Broncos Coach/s in the same lockdown postcode with a view to conducting COVID safe outdoor trainings (one coach, up to two players) – Junior Domestic Clubs may wish to consider if they are able to implement a similar option;
- Resuming COVID safe supervised Junior Broncos group training sessions by age group and gender on Saturdays at the Greenvale Recreation Centre (attendance by coaches and players from non-lockdown postcodes only).
We can also advise that we have confirmed our continued participation in the 2020 VJL season, due to get underway on 7 August.
We will provide updates on the Junior and Senior Domestic seasons next week.
In the meantime, please look out for each other, stay safe and let’s keep everything crossed that the incidence of infection cases starts to fall so we can get back to enjoying the sport that is so important to community bonding and spirit.
