To our Broadmeadows Basketball Community,

This week we experienced another setback in our return to basketball with the reintroduction of Stage 3 COVID19 restrictions. This unfortunately means we move back to Basketball Victoria Red-10 status and temporary closure of our venue. Basketball Victoria update available here.

This also results in the further postponement of our junior and senior domestic seasons, set to commence from July 18, as well cancellation of the VJBL and BigV seasons.

While this is extremely disappointing for our members, it does give us some more clarity on the next few months and allows us to move forward and begin planning for the upcoming seasons. Our venue has been reconfigured to be compliant with any restrictions on our return and we have many of the new processes and procedures already in place to restart in a timely manner.

As before, we will continue to find ways to adapt to the restrictions put in front of us. Our office staff will continue working hard (remotely) to keep our members engaged and ensure a safe return to basketball as soon as practical.

The 6-week timeline on these new restrictions means that we will not be able to return to basketball until late-August at the earliest. With this in mind we will take a couple of weeks to try and gain some more clarity on the current environment as well as awaiting advice from Basketball Victoria before setting dates and structure around the next domestic seasons, Broncos tryouts and other programs. We plan to update you with some more detailed information by Friday 31 July.

The support and cooperation from our members through this challenging time has been overwhelming and gives us great confidence we will return to full strength in the near future.
