Senior Broncos Results - Round 12
A decent weekend for the Hume City Broncos, going 2-2 from the weekend.
The Senior teams took home 30+ points wins on Sunday at home, with players from Strathmore Unicorns featuring on game day – thank you for the support!
We hope to see everyone on Saturday night as both Senior Broncos teams take on the Casey Cavaliers!

Thanks to Scott Gick Photography for covering the games with some awesome images!
Senior Women def Bulleen
Hume City – 89
Bulleen – 54
BreAnna Brock – 22 points, 10 rebounds, 6 blocks
Nicole Zammit – 14 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists
A nice strong win for the Senior Women after the long weekend break.
It was an even start, with Bulleen keeping up with the pace early on in the first quarter before the Broncos settled into gear hitting consistent shots and lead by 13 points at quarter time. The second quarter was very even and low scoring – with the margin at 14 points at the half.
The second half the Broncos showed why they are a great team, going 25-12 and 23-16 to lead to a clear win. It was a dominant display in the end as the young Boomers just couldn’t match up with the likes of experienced players in BreAnna Brock, Nicole Zammit and Bianca Babic.

Senior Men def Werribee Devils
Hume City – 126
Werribee – 94
Jake Martin – 24 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists
Pete Puondak – 19 points, 10 rebounds
This win makes it 6 wins in a row for the Senior Men, having only lost 1 game since Easter.
Werribee have some great scoring power in their 2 imports, but the Broncos are averaging over 100 points and got there yet again as Werribee struggled with the scoring pressure.
The Men won all 4 quarters and had 7 players score double figures, along with everyone listed getting court time.
It was a great team game by the Broncos with plenty of highlights to entertain the crowd.

Youth Men def by Bendigo Braves
Hume City – 75
Bendigo – 88
Marshall Kearing – 19 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks
MJ Foster – 10 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists
The Youth Men played well for 3 quarters, being only a couple of points down with a few minutes to go but then fell away in those final minutes.
However, this game goes to show that the Broncos are not too be taken lightly, as they defeated Altona (4th) only a few weeks ago and this time went quite clost against the second placed Braves.
The remaining 6 games for the Broncos come up against teams below the top 3, so there will be opportunities to end the season on a high.

Youth Women def by Knox Raiders
Hume City – 69
Knox – 77
Unfortunately the Youth Women had a loss on Saturday night over across at Knox.
It was a game of momentum swings with the Broncos firstly taking an 8 point lead at quarter time before trailing by 3 points at half time and 7 points at three-quarter time.
After the Raiders took the lead, the Broncos weren’t able to take it back.
The Watson division at the moment is quite close within the Youth Championship Division, with 4 teams with 7 wins (Broncos are at 7-9).
Leilani Siamoa – 18 points, 5 rebounds
Jess Azzopardi – 16 points, 5 steals
