Broadmeadows Basketball Association (BBA) is pleased to announce that, following
an extensive and rigorous selection process, Morgan Hughes has been successful in
being appointed to the General Manager role.
Morgan has worked as the General Manager of the North West Football League
(under the auspices of AFL Tasmania) for the past five years, leading the League’s
growth of competition numbers, female participation and development programs and
driving the formulation and implementation of its Strategic Plan.
In making the announcement of Morgan’s appointment, BBA Vice President Mark
Crotty said “The selection panel that considered applicants for the General Manager
role was unanimous in its assessment that Morgan was the best credentialled
candidate. That assessment took into account Morgan’s demonstrated capabilities
servicing a sports environment not dissimilar in scale and community characteristics
to the Broadmeadows demographic markers. It was also reassuring that Morgan had
grown up in the Hume City LGA so he could identify with the multicultural and
socioeconomic factors unique to Hume City. We are very glad to welcome Morgan to
our GM role.”
“I’m looking forward to coming on board” Morgan said, when accepting the offer of
appointment. “The Broadmeadows Basketball entity is a well-respected organisation
which has been rolling out a number of impressive community engagement initiatives
leading to outcomes of improved self esteem and a sense of belonging, through the
agency of sport. Playing my role in facilitating those outcomes through consolidating
socially responsible partnerships and seeking new ways to provide community
lifestyle benefits is what attracted me to this opportunity.”
Morgan is due to commence in the General Manager role on 19 January.
