MEDIA RELEASE

HUME CITY 2026 BIG V WOMENS COACHING APPOINTMENTS

Broadmeadows Basketball Association (BBA) is pleased to announce that the

tenures of Brooke Davenport and Brad Keighran in the roles of Big V Womens

Championship Division Coach and Youth League Womens Coach respectively, have

been extended into the 2026 season.

“Brooke, Brad and their coaching support staff have worked very well together in

leading the Hume City womens program in demonstrating shared values in the

areas of trust, respect, teamwork and resilience” said BBA General Manager Glen

Milner.

“Demonstration of those values was tested by the injury ravaged season

experienced by our Championship Division Womens team but the supportive and

positive environment promoted by Brooke and her collaboration with Brad enabled

our teams to be strongly competitive despite those setbacks. A side benefit of that

scenario was the court time given to members of our Youth League team, which will

stand the program in good stead down the track.”

Reacting to news of the appointment, Brooke said “I appreciate the vote of

confidence in having me once again lead this talented group of players into

hopefully a more successful campaign in 2026 – one not so severely impacted by

injuries! The coaching and playing lessons learned under those adverse

circumstances will be invaluable in planning for next season.”

“Super excited to be returning to build on the great foundation we have established

this year” was how Brad reacted. “We have a number of exciting juniors and

inclusions to the squad and I’m looking forward to working with Brooke and the

coaching staff again to continue the positive trajectory of Hume City’s womens

program.”

BBA’s Committee of Management have also endorsed the appointment of multiple

girls and womens Championships winning Coach Glen Milner as Director of

Womens Coaching, a role he is reprising to further bolster the investment in coach

and player strategies leading to stronger synergies in style of play, preparation for

games and post-game reviews.

For inquiries about this media release please contact Glen Milner during business

hours at the BBA Office on 9309 5655.
